About MD Support Centre
MD Support Centre exists to improve the lives of people living with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions. Our charity provides specialist physical therapies and a supportive community that helps people maintain mobility, independence, and quality of life.
Across the UK, more than 110,000 people live with a muscle-wasting condition. In the Midlands region alone, around 12,000 adults are affected. After the age of 19, many people see a sharp reduction in the amount of physiotherapy and specialist support they can access through the NHS, despite it being essential in helping slow the progression of muscle deterioration. That’s where the MD Support Centre steps in.
As an independent charity, our work is funded primarily through voluntary donations and fundraising. This generosity enables us to provide therapies free of charge and plan for the future, ensuring we are here for everyone who needs us.
