Do you believe people with lived experience should shape the services they use, not just be consulted at the end?

Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre is looking for a Service User Participation Worker to put service-user voice at the heart of everything we do.

This role is about real participation, not tick boxes. You’ll build community connections, run inclusive activities, support peer networks, and capture lived-experience insight that directly influences our services, communications and strategy.

The essentials:

  • Community-based across the West Midlands
  • Part-time (some evening work)
  • Permanent
  • Charity sector
  • Salary: £ £12.71per hour (£ 23,132.20 per annum pro rata for a 35-hour week)

You’ll be great if you:

  • Are confident working with people from all walks of life
  • Can facilitate groups and create inclusive spaces
  • Care deeply about voice, dignity and meaningful involvement
  • Are organised, empathetic and proactive

You’ll work closely with our communications, therapy and leadership teams to ensure the voices of people affected by muscle-wasting conditions genuinely shape what we do, and how we talk about it.
